La de iones de litio tiene una eficiencia de carga del 99%, y la p\u00e9rdida por descarga es peque\u00f1a. En comparaci\u00f3n, la eficiencia energ\u00e9tica de la pila de combustible es del 20-60%, y la del motor de combusti\u00f3n interna, del 25-30%. A una velocidad y temperatura de entrada de aire \u00f3ptimas, el GE90-115 del avi\u00f3n Boeing 777 alcanza una eficiencia del 37%.
